YouTube Create

Mobile video editing for YouTube creators

YouTube Create is a video editor for turning phone footage into finished YouTube videos and Shorts. It suits beginners, casual creators and regular uploaders who want core editing tools without using a full desktop production suite. The app is developed by Google LLC and belongs to the Video Players & Editors category.

Tools for a cleaner edit

The editor brings common production tasks into one mobile workflow. You can trim and arrange clips on a timeline, add transitions and effects, and work with music and sound effects from an in-app asset library. Auto-captions help create subtitles without typing the dialogue manually, while audio cleanup can reduce distracting background noise.

• Auto-captions for spoken video
• Background-noise reduction for recorded audio
• Music and sound effects for adding atmosphere
• Beat matching for aligning edits with music
• Cut-out effects for removing a background without a green screen

Who it fits

This is a practical choice for creators making social videos, tutorials, vlogs, commentary and short-form content from a phone. Its focus is speed and accessibility rather than the deeper controls found in advanced professional editors. If you need a straightforward route from camera footage to a YouTube-ready project, its direct connection to the YouTube ecosystem is useful.

At a glance

YouTube Create has a 3.61 rating from 19,144 reviews and records 5,000,000+ installs. Those figures place it among widely used mobile editing tools, while the rating suggests that user experiences are mixed rather than uniformly positive. Choose it for an approachable editing workspace and creator-focused utilities; look elsewhere if your projects depend on complex animation, extensive layer control or highly detailed professional post-production.
