Google Meet

Video calls for work and everyday conversations

Google Meet is a video-calling app for joining online meetings, talking with family and friends, and collaborating with a team. It suits people who want one place for face-to-face calls without switching between separate chat and meeting tools. Meetings can include visual effects, filters, reactions, and custom backgrounds when you want a more informal setting.

Tools that help people stay involved

The app can adjust lighting automatically when the room is dim, while noise cancellation helps reduce unwanted sounds around you. Real-time captions make spoken conversation easier to follow, although caption language support is not universal. These features can be useful for remote work, group planning, classes, or calls where not everyone has the same listening conditions.

Extra meeting features

Some capabilities depend on an eligible premium plan. These include meeting recording, AI-powered note-taking, and real-time speech-to-speech translation. Translation and caption availability varies by language, and certain functions may also depend on the device being used. The result is a flexible meeting tool, but its full feature set is not identical for every account or phone.
