Google Family Link

Parental controls for family devices

Google Family Link helps parents manage how children use compatible Android devices and selected Google services. It suits families that want practical limits around screen time, app access, online content, and account settings without relying on a simple all-or-nothing restriction.

Set clear digital boundaries

Use daily screen-time limits to create a routine that fits your household, including scheduled school-time and downtime periods. Family Link also supports controls for individual apps, so educational tools or frequently used apps can receive different limits. Parents can block apps when needed and approve new downloads from Google Play.

Review content, privacy, and account settings

The app brings together parental controls for services such as Chrome, YouTube, Search, and Google Play. Depending on the service and device, parents can manage filters, review app and website permissions, and adjust privacy settings. Family Link can also help manage a child’s Google Account, including password recovery and selected personal information settings.

Stay informed when children are away

When a child is carrying a compatible device and location sharing is available, Family Link can show their position on a map. Location-based alerts can notify you when they arrive at or leave a selected place. You can also ring a connected device and check its remaining battery level.
