Gboard - the Google Keyboard

A keyboard for everyday typing

Gboard - the Google Keyboard is a mobile keyboard for Android phones and Wear OS watches. It suits people who want more ways to enter text than tapping individual keys, including users who switch between languages, dictate messages, or search for visual replies while typing. Developed by Google LLC, it is listed in the Tools category.

Several ways to enter text

Glide Typing lets you move your finger from letter to letter instead of tapping each key. Voice typing turns spoken words into text, while handwriting input accepts printed or cursive writing. A gesture across the space bar can move the cursor, and a swipe from the delete key can remove multiple words quickly.

Language, emoji and translation tools

Gboard supports hundreds of language varieties and can provide corrections and suggestions across enabled languages without requiring constant manual switching. Its emoji search helps locate a specific symbol, and the built-in GIF search makes it easier to find a reaction from the keyboard. Google Translate can also translate text as you type.

• Glide, voice and handwriting input
• Multilingual typing with suggestions and autocorrection
• Emoji and GIF search from the keyboard
• Translation while typing
• Optional number row, symbol hints and one-handed mode

Adoption and device support

With a rating of 4.527243 from more than 18 million reviews and 10,000,000,000+ installs, Gboard is one of the most widely used Android keyboard apps. Wear OS support brings typing, voice input and emoji entry to compatible watches. Some input options may not be available on Android Go devices.
